Battleshipz, tips and tricks!
Learn more about the interesting web3 game I played and find out valuable advice that could save your ass (or money at least)
Battleshipz: The Web3 Game with Old-School Arcade Vibes
Did you hear about Battleshipz? If you're into web3 gaming and old-school arcades, you should read this.
Let's start with the boring DYOR part. You should always make your own conclusions, and I will not try to persuade you to buy Battleshipz. But they are cool, and I want to write about them.
So, what makes me bullish?
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I often write about the importance of the founder's approach to the project. You can get a lot of signals from it, and the Battleshipz founder is one of the OGs in this space.
I learned more about him somewhere around a year ago (I'm not sure, but I think it was a night when Otherdeeds for Otherside were minted). My friend told me about something called "Mirror Pass" and offered to mint one for me. I didn't know what it was or why anyone would need it, but I said yes like every honest degen and soon discovered an amazing alpha and degen community. But this is not a story about the mirrors; it's about Battleshipz, and what's common between these two is their founder - Zeal.exe.
Don't get me wrong; I don't know this guy personally, but what I actually do know is that he delivers. And that is exactly what I love to see from founders. No huge promises, no fake partnerships (it will happen but we can't share the details yet, stay tuned suckers) - just a healthy dose of sarcasm and an MVP right after the mint.
And they did it.
A few days ago, we played the first space invader-style event, and now we will have an opportunity to upgrade our ships with parts whose rarity depends on our leaderboard score.
This is just the beginning. If you want to learn more, start reading their Twitter and Medium, jump on Discord, and maybe even grab some shipz while they are cheap.
🧵 Battleshipz Ecosystem:
Battleshipz is 100% on-chain with a focus on progressive gaming in Web3.
Every stage of the game ties into the Battle ecosystem, allowing players to experience various gamemodes and gameplay.

How to avoid being rug pulled? Pro tips and tricks that help you evaluate projects before you ape in.
Here are some tips on how to avoid being rug pulled and recognize the red flags in the NFT/Web3 space. It's essential to spot them, protect yourself, make better decisions, and stop investing like a mindless animal.
Fake followers
First of all, be cautious of projects with a huge follower base, especially when the project is not following many people or anyone at all. This is an old trick from the bull market, and in 99% of cases, these numbers are bought followers/bots.
Alert level 🚨 2/5.
Bought Account
Another red flag to look out for is bought Twitter accounts. Check the date when the profile was registered and go to the first tweet. If the dates do not correspond, the account was used for something else in the past or bought to create a fake image of popularity.
Alert level 🚨 3/5.
Fake engagement
Be wary of projects with a big Discord hype, especially if you see many "wen mint," "wen moon," "LFG," and similar messages. These are probably paid chatters, and you'll recognize them by their endless, meaningless conversations. This technique is used to cause FOMO.
Alert level🚨 3/5.
Whitelist slavery
If a project demands a high whitelist requirement, it's a red flag. You are an investor, not free promo labor, and if the founders ask this from you, they don't respect you. Many projects like these collapse right after mint.
Alert level 🚨 3/5.
Pumped bios
Be cautious of projects with a “famous”, but anonymous artist/team. If the team bio speaks superlatives and presents no facts to prove it, they lie.
Alert level🚨 4/5.
Announcement ninjas
Mysterious announcements and big promises like “when the collection mints we will clone a dinosaur…” are also red flags. If the founders communicate only through rare announcements, they don't consider the community important. These are just hooks for potential minters.
Alert level 🚨 4/5.
Shitty derivative art
Finally, be wary of projects with shady artwork. If the project uses ideas from other collections and builds only upon them, sneak peek legendary and no commons, or applies popular motifs to NFTs (Spiderman-ape-zuki), there is a great chance you are getting rekt.
Alert level 🚨 5/5.
Now, these rules are not absolute, and there are many more. But if you stick with them, they may save you money and maybe even prevent you screwing up harder.
